Geoff's updates

3/2/05

So I've had an eventful week, and am still relishing in the good
times--just got back from Omaha where I saw Modest Mouse
with Mason Jennings and Mount Egypt. The show was great,
but the real highlight was playing baseball before the show with
some of the guys in the bands (Omaha Hackers-11 to
Right Leg Longers-7). For all of you that know me, I'm not deluded
here, we really did win!
Everyone I met was great, and it was nice to find that some of the
musicians I dig are gracious people. Also, a couple of days ago I played
an opening dj set for a band from Chicago called Futurerock, who were
also very cool, had kinda a Tortoise vibe, and they played a couple of
brilliant covers of AFX and BOC. Oh, and just about a week till my move
to Austin, and I might change my "band-name" from electric blanket since I found two others out there, one defunkt. I want my own damn name!

So I've been keeping busy so far this year, working on the
Optic Echo site, putting the finishing touches on my album to come
currently entitled bye-gones, which is in many ways an excuse to draw
a line in the sand and clear out my old songs in one fell swoop.

Check here for a bonus album by my long-time friend
Mike Koelling entitled down, and here to listen to a few
electric blanket songs left off bye-gones, both downloadable free
for your personal listening pleasure.
